Is it Spring yet?

I hate winter. Unlike when I was a child and I could appreciate the fun things about winter, now it is just a test of my will to survive. I joke, but seriously, I can't take it anymore!!!

Yesterday I had my follow up with my cancer doctor, and it wasn't without incident. Mom came with and while we were in the waiting room, and I waited to get taken in, the emergency alarms started going off. There were two of them there in the waiting room, up on the ceiling. Flashing strobe lights and a loud zapping alarm. We just sat there and tried to ignore it, just like Rita (not her real name) the office clerk was doing behind her desk. Then a voice came over the loudspeaker saying "Code Red" for the building. We sat there for a while longer as the alarms continued to go off, until one of the nurses did some checking and then she and another nurse came out with their jackets and told us we had to leave the building. His office is just a short walk to the front entrance so we all went out into the breezeway and waited as a security guard went to check to see what was going on. Apparently not much because he soon told us we could go back inside, as the fire trucks started to arrive. I joked with everyone that I was just glad the alarms didn't go off while I was having my exam. That would have sucked enormously to have to get dressed, just to go outside for a minute, then come back in and get undressed again.

My exam went well and I don't have to go back until July, but I have to have a PET scan before I go. PET scans are easy, so no big deal.
